The Shire provides one bulk green waste verge collection per year for town residents.
In 2024, bulk green waste verge collections will commence Monday 9th September, 2024. Please ensure all green waste is placed on your verge by the day before.
Rubbish is only permitted to be placed on the verge for a maximum 10 days prior to collection week (you can commence placing rubbish out on Saturday 31st August 2024).
- Place waste on the verge one metre (1m) back from the kerb, taking care not to obstruct footpaths, line of sight or create a safety hazard.
- Place items clear of vehicles, trees, water meters, fences, letterboxes, reticulation and sprinklers to allow collection without causing damage.
- Do not put waste out prior to 10 days before the nominated weekend as you may receive a $200 litter infringement.
GREEN WASTE WE WILL COLLECT:
- Tree branches and shrub prunings
- Items less than 1.5 metres in length
- Items less than 300mm in diameter
- Items placed with cut ends towards the street

Rubbish is only permitted to be placed on the verge for a maximum one week prior to collection week (you can commence placing rubbish out on 12th May, 2024).
- Place waste on the verge one metre (1m) back from the kerb, taking care not to obstruct footpaths, line of sight or create a safety hazard.
- Place items clear of vehicles, trees, water meters, fences, letterboxes, reticulation and sprinklers to allow collection without causing damage.
- Do not put bulk waste out prior to seven days before the nominated weekend as you may receive a $200 litter infringement.
WHAT WE WILL COLLECT:
- Household furniture
- White goods and metal products including de-gassed fridges, stoves, dryers, freezers and washing machines (doors removed)
- E-waste such as televisions and computers
- Household electric items
- Unwanted household items
- Mattresses
- Trampolines (dismantled)
WHAT WE WON’T COLLECT:
- Glass, including plate glass, mirrors, shower screens and glass in furniture
- Building materials, bricks, paving, tiles, ceramic items eg toilet cisterns, toilet bowls, basins and baths etc, concrete, wire, sand or cement
- Asbestos or fibre cement products
- Garden organics and food waste
- Fire extinguishers, EPIRBs or flares
- Hazardous waste, i.e. chemicals, oils, paint, pesticides, solvents, batteries, gas bottles, empty aerosol cans or smoke detectors
