Quairading provides a number of health services and facilities for young and old.

From the Medical Practice to Seniors activity groups and aged care, we have it all. There are also a number of specialists who visit Quairading on a regular basis.

QUAIRADING MEDICAL PRACTICE

Full GP Services are provided for the Medical Practice.

DR. SING JACK YAP

MBBS FRACGP Dip Derm DCH

Dr. Yap is an experienced GP, GP Supervisor for GP Training and an examiner for Royal Australia College of General Practitioner (RACGP) with special interests in medical sub-specialties, dermatology, skin cancer medicine, skin cancer procedures, aged-care, and occupational health.Β  In 2021, he was awarded GP Educator of the Year via Western Australia General Practice Education and Training (WAGPET).

Before becoming a GP, Jack worked in various medical sub-specialties including cardiology, renal medicine, haematology, immunology, rheumatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, oncology and geriatric medicine under the physician training program with Royal Perth Hospital. He then pursued further training in dermatology, skin cancer medicine, skin procedures and occupational health.

The Surgery is located across the road and to the west of the hospital and has wheelchair access.

The Quairading Pharmacy is located on the main street for all your pharmaceutical needs.

COMMUNITY CAR

A community owned car and volunteer driver is available to take you to medical/doctor appointments in Perth, Midland, Northam , Narrogin or Merredin. A donation to the Auxiliary of $70 is requested and payable in cash at the Shire of Quairading upon your return.

STAY ACTIVE (SENIORS)

An exercise group for over 50’s conducted weekly on a Thursday at 9.30am at the Town Hall. To join the group you just need to be quickly assessed by a physiotherapist. To arrange this you can contact the local hospital on 9645 2222.

PARKER HOUSE

The Frail & Aged Lodge known as Parker House is situated next to the Arthur Kelly Village on Jennaberring Road.

The Lodge has facilities for seven residents offering very comfortable modern rooms complemented by tasteful furnishings in the shared living areas.

Carers are on site 24 hours a day with support from the Quairading Health Service.

CHSP (COMMONWEALTH HOME SUPPORT PROGRAM)

The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) provides support services to older people, people with a disability and their carers to assist them to continue living independently at home. (This is for those unable to access Commonwealth Home Support packages from private service providers)

CHSP includes:

β€’ support to participate in social activity in a group or one-on-one
β€’ assistance with everyday household tasks
β€’ assistance to enhance nutrition, function, strength, independence and safety
β€’ assistance to support your independence in your personal care activities such as showering and dressing
β€’ assistance to keep up with essential activities such as shopping, banking and maintaining social contacts
